Primary Role and Purpose: The Attendance Officer helps in understanding and applying required compulsory attendance laws under Section 25.085 TEC and identifies and helps resolve causes of truancy, excessive absences, and tardiness. He/she helps take attendance at the school and operates as the charter schools contact with parents, law enforcement agencies and court personnel on matters relating to these problems. He/she also engages in dropout prevention activities working with students and parents to help students stay in school.
Qualifications: A High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Certificate required. Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree, or 48 college credit hours or higher preferred. Background in criminal justice preferred. This position requires computer literacy. Texas certified server or peace officer preferred.
