Responsibilities: The Communications & Events Support Assistant is responsible for carrying out day to day recruitment preparation activities to include planning events, writing press releases, and print/promo items.

  • Serve as the primary contact between external marketing partners and TPHS.

  • Collaborate with campus Principals to plan and coordinate both on campus and off campus student recruitment and retention events. Event coordination includes vendor/venue management, ordering materials for events, brainstorming activity ideas, facilitating communication between campuses, scheduling staff participation, etc.

  • Work together with TPHS leadership to develop annual marketing calendars that schedule annual events, social media postings, and advertisements for each campus

  • Identify community events in each region for campuses to attend to recruit students and increase brand awareness

  • Generate press releases to send to local media about campus events and stories

  • Develop statements and scripts for TPHS leadership during media appearances and for emergency announcements as needed

  • Translate marketing materials in Spanish to capture our Spanish speaking audiences

  • Aid TPHS leadership in the planning and execution of organizational-wide events such as the Spanish Spelling Bee and Summer Conference

  • Send marketing materials such as promo items and print materials to campuses in a timely and cost effective manner

  • Keep an accurate inventory of promo items and print materials from the TPHS fulfillment room

  • Ensure all marketing materials such as social media postings, print materials, advertisements, etc. are all within the branding guidelines and are grammatically correct.

  • Design and distribute monthly newsletter to internal stakeholders

  • Maintain consistent communication with supervisor regarding ongoing and upcoming marketing tasks

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in communications and event planning or other related roles is required. Previous experience in marketing for a non-profit organization is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read, write and understand English required
  • Required to pass a pre-employment fingerprinting as part of the background check
  • Required to submit original college transcripts, service records and credentials within first 30 days of employment

Pay Range Based on Education, Experience, Certifications and/or Credentials:

 $27,120 to $30,736 annually

*Annually salary is calculated at a prorated rate from effective date of hire
